About Us:

Obligo builds trust between landlords and renters through financial technology, making the rental process as simple as checking in and out of a hotel. Renters enjoy instant qualification and deposit-free renting while property owners and managers streamline their operations and make their listings more appealing to renters. We are seeking a passionate & experienced Controller to join our team and help us drive this mission forward.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Leading the preparation of comprehensive financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Managing relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and smooth audit processes.
  • Developing and implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Providing strategic financial analysis and insights to senior management, including variance analysis and forecasting.
  • Directing and mentoring the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Operations, Sales, and IT to optimize business processes and financial outcomes.
  • Monitoring cash flow, liquidity, and financial health indicators to support strategic decision-making.
  • Driving the annual budgeting and planning process, aligning financial goals with overall company objectives.
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends to ensure compliance and competitiveness.


Requirements:

  • CPA certification with a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, preferably in a high-tech environment.
  • Extensive experience with financial reporting, audit coordination, and tax compliance.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, hands-on approach to managing responsibilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software (e.g., Netsuite).
  • Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) and US GAAP.
