Our Bank development team is looking for a Staff Software Engineer with a passion for building reliable, scalable, and performant software to support the Stash mission. After building a bank from the ground up we will be expanding our domain into the lending space. We will be building a platform to support our customers on their journey to invest and build wealth. You will join an experienced and talented team as a technical leader.You’ll partner with every department and have the flexibility to use your creative, problem-solving skills to improve the Stash process in near real-time.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Architect, design, and implement internal software applications that support the Stash experience, including rich user interfaces, and robust backend services
  • Partner with every department to come up with new features and applications
  • Own the end to end delivery of software components from inception to production
  • Work in a cross-functional agile team to deliver working software incrementally
  • Instrument, test, profile, and code review software
  • Continuously deploy what you build to our cloud-based infrastructure
  • Set the technical direction and standards for the team

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Software enginnering or similar area of study
  • 7+ Years of industry experience building software
  • An experienced engineer with a track record of turning ideas into reliable code that others find easy to understand and modify
  • Experience building reusable and scalable APIs for consumption by the wider organization
  • Creative problem solver with a passion for testing, debugging, and overall code quality
  • Data-driven decision maker, willing to take risks, fail fast, and iterate quickly
  • Deep understanding and experience with GoLang, event-based architectures, and gRPC services
  • A detail oriented engineer that takes ownership of their domain
  • Growth focused colleague that will grow and mentor others

Gold Stars:

  • Experience and understanding of CockroachDB and RDS
  • Familiarity with Scala, EKS (K8s), Redis, Kafka, and NATs
  • A majority of professional experience in GoLang

Salary Range: $159,408 - $236,160

The base salary range represents the reasonably anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience and competencies, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data for companies of our size and industry.
