Too many people in the U.S. continue to be left behind by traditional financial services institutions. At Stash, an investing app with more than 2 million active subscribers, we’re on a mission to address that reality by empowering people to invest and build better lives. We’re turning money into a source of hope and opportunity and giving our customers the confidence to take charge of their money and financial future.

It’s an exciting time to be a Stasher! Bolstered by a new slate of world-class leaders and a fresh round of financing, we’re headed into our next phase of growth with momentum. We’ve implemented product enhancements that make it easier for individuals to start their financial journey with us, and operational changes to help us deliver for and support our customers with optimal speed, rigor, and transparency. Also in the past year, Stash launched its groundbreaking back-end infrastructure, Stash Core, allowing the company to exceed 70% in gross margin as it marches towards profitability.

Our team is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer with a passion for building a reliable, scalable, and performant cloud infrastructure and tools to power the Stash experience.

We’ve had tremendous growth over the past 2 years and to support these initiatives, Stash will be expanding our team that supports our cloud infrastructure. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be working to build out and scale our infrastructure platform and processes that are the bedrock of Stash.

What you’ll do:

  • Implement features based on project requirements and user stories to deliver a seamless user experience while adhering to best practices and high quality.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, technical leads, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
  • Actively contribute to team discussions, planning meetings, and sprint reviews.
  • Develop and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests for features owned by the team.
  • Participate in on-call rotation with the team to support applications from idea to production.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and incorporating feedback into your work.
  • Identify and proactively recommend improvements in areas of code with technical debt.
  • Collaborate in an agile, cross-functional team to develop and deliver new features.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement, both in your technical skills and development processes.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in web development, with a strong focus on React
  • Proficiency in React, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3. Experience with Redux or other state management libraries is a plus
  • Familiarity with modern build tools and workflows (e.g., Webpack, Babel, npm/yarn)
  • Ability to create responsive designs using CSS frameworks or methodologies (e.g., Flexbox, Grid, Tailwind).
  • Proficiency with Git.
  • Creative problem solver with a passion for testing, debugging, and overall code quality

Gold Stars:

  • Familiarity with TypeScript and its integration with React.
  • Experience building applications at scale
  • Experience in agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with GitHub actions and terraform.
  • A keen interest in unit, integrated, and end-to-end testing (playwright).
