About the team

The Stripe BaaS team enables users to build and launch successful card programs and financial features into their product using powerful programmatic APIs. The team creates the infrastructure, user facing abstractions, and partner integrations needed to manage the lifecycle of a card, enable money movement, and increase spend. This is a great opportunity to help build one of Stripe's fastest growing businesses. What you’ll do

As one of the most senior Product Managers on the team, you'll own one of our most strategic product areas for Stripe Issuing and be responsible for the associated P&L impact - directly growing our addressable market and enabling Stripe to land our largest user deals. In this role you'll own the product e2e including core APIs, hosted experiences, and partner integrations. This role is critical in designing sophisticated financial services products for our users, with minimal technical and operational complexity. This is a highly complex and challenging role that will require you to deeply understand user needs and collaborate across internal and partner teams to build and launch a seamless product experience at scale. We need a strong Product Manager with expertise in platform products to realize this aspiration. This Product Manager will spend significant time with senior customer stakeholders to discuss strategy and roadmap, with external developers understanding their current pain points and needs, end users to build delightful experiences, and Stripe's sales leadership to help win new business on Stripe.

Responsibilities

  • Design product strategies and ship products to reach new market segments (i.e. Travel, Fleet), domestic and international
  • Design/ship sophisticated card issuing capabilities for scaled users, ensure successful activation and value attainment
  • Work side by side with the Issuing engineering teams and EMs
  • Collaborate across Stripe with engineering, design, legal, risk, compliance, etc. early in the product development lifecycle to jointly shape products with elegant integration UX
  • Own the roadmap and go to market, with product marketing, of your BaaS product area
  • Be accountable for the financial outcome of your issuing pillar
  • Act as the voice of the user in product and API designs, gathering direct feedback from customers
  • Ensure we're building in a scalable, performant way

Who you are

Minimum requirements

  • Brings 10+ years of experience in a product role
  • Has experience building platform and/or API products
  • Has domain knowledge in financial products, particularly card issuing, funds storage
  • Has led international expansion initiatives and/or worked with card networks
  • Has an obsession over product quality
  • Prioritizes easy to understand developer documentation and technical integrations
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills with a talent for precise articulations of customer problems, and negotiating with users
  • Can put themselves in the shoes of our users and be a steward of crafting great experiences
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $214,300 - $321,500. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
