Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Our Product Marketing team’s mission is to generate customer insights that inform Stripe’s product strategy, lead go-to-market for our suite of products, and create and execute launches to drive product growth. Product Marketing is a highly cross-functional role at Stripe, partnering closely with Product and Engineering, Sales, Design, Marketing, and Communications to name a few. We help build the connective tissue between product and our users (+user-facing teams), so that Stripe can ultimately deliver more value to more users, faster.

We’re looking for an experienced Product Marketing Manager to help drive go-to-market for Stripe’s embedded payments and financial services solutions. Stripe is building the financial structure that powers the platform economy, helping thousands of software platforms, digital marketplaces, on-demand services, and creator economy platforms embed payments and financial services within their product offerings. Products such as Connect, Treasury, Issuing, and Capital enable platforms to build experiences for millions of small businesses, solopreneurs, and gig workers that help them manage their finances, get paid faster, and grow their business—all in one place. You’ll work with Product and Engineering teams to define and launch our roadmap and with Marketing and Sales teams to drive awareness, consideration, and adoption across the spectrum, from startups to the world’s largest digital platforms.

What you’ll do

  • Be a storyteller. You have deep empathy for users and are able to adapt how you communicate to best reach and engage your audience—from developer to CEO—and differentiate Stripe. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Lead with data. You like working with data and insights and pair that with your passion for users to generate balanced and thoughtful points of view for how to take our products to market
  • Keep things organized. You are able to manage highly interdependent, complex projects and keep various workstreams on track. You are able to manage highly interdependent, complex projects and keep various work streams on track
  • Have a passion for technology. You are keen to learn about how things work and are able to explain technical concepts in ways that everyday people can understand
  • Be Ambitious. You are eager to make an impact at Stripe. You thrive in a fast-moving, dynamic, hyper-growth environment and are able to operate fluidly between the 30,000-foot strategy level and the micro-detail to get things right
  • Act as team player. Product Marketers collaborate across the Marketing team and with basically every team at Stripe. You are able to work with a range of disciplines to execute on your work

Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand how to scope and execute marketing strategies needed to reach different customer segments: talk regularly to users and prospects and work with our Analytics team for qualitative and quantitative insights that inform your work (content, messaging, positioning, etc.)
  • Advocate for our existing and prospective users, be informed about our competitive landscape, and become the go-to expert for your product area to help shape the product roadmap and strategy
  • Develop product positioning and messaging informed by user research, market insights, and product understanding
  • Work closely with a range of cross-functional teams—product managers, sales, design, PR, and engineering—to develop go-to-market strategy and drive launches for our products
  • Help enable user-facing teams at Stripe—from Sales and Technical Account Managers to local teams in other countries
  • Work with the Finance and Product teams to set pricing that aligns to the product value proposition and with our users’ success
  • Partner with the Product and Growth Marketing teams to track the right metrics and execute campaigns that drive awareness and adoption on an ongoing basis
  • Think globally as we work to expand our solutions around the world, adapting your understanding of local market needs, competitors, and pricing accordingly

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience that can span marketing, product marketing, finance, product management, operational roles, or strategy consulting
  • 5+ years of marketing or go-to-market experience
  • Experience working on marketing or growth throughout a product’s lifecycle
  • Experience working in B2B settings and with sales teams is preferred
  • Experience in payments or financial services is preferred but not required
  • We don’t expect you to have all these things (but the more the merrier!)

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in a high growth technology company
  • Experience in finance or strategy consulting

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $126,400 - $231,400. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
